The Schenectady Wintersports Club (SWC) was founded in 1932 to promote outdoor winter activities for those in the New York Capital District. The Northern New York Paddlers (NNYP) and the Mohawk Valley Hiking Club (MVHC) joined with the SWC creating an organization that promotes activities year round. Activities include skiing (both alpine and nordic), snowboarding, canoeing, hiking, biking and any other outdoor activity that members wish to organize. We have over 1000 members and welcome all ages, singles and families.
Danger exists for participants in canoeing, kayaking, bicycling, skiing
and other activities organized or advertised by the Schenectady Wintersports Club. Such
participation may result in illness or injury due to accidents, the forces of nature, or
other causes not foreseeable. Such illness and injury may include disease, strains, sprains,
fractures, dislocations, paralysis, and/or death. Possible injuries may cause serious and
permanent disability.
