Please see Calendar of Events for dates and subject of presentation.
Today the club offers sports enthusiasts and families the chance to enjoy the outdoors year round. The Schenectady Wintersports Club, the Northern New York Paddlers and the Mohawk Valley Hiking Club are family oriented clubs located in New York State's Capital District. During the winter months, many special skiing days are planned. SWC has recently rejoined the New York Capital District Ski Council racing program which provides recreational giant slalom racing at various major ski resorts in Vermont and New York State. During the warmer months of the year, hiking, biking, and canoeing activities are planned for minimal cost to members. The SWC-NNYP-MVHC meet every other week during September through November and January through April. Our meetings are held at the Ancient Order of the Hibernian Hall at 1748 State Street in Schenectady NY. Meetings include a social hour, a short business meeting, and a special presentation. The meetings allow our members to share information on current activities and coming events. The special presentations cover a wide range of subjects from new equipment & techniques to talks on member trips (down hill skiing in the Alps, cross-country skiing in Norway, around the world biking, canoeing in Guinea and Canada, and safaris in Africa). |
