Last night we returned home from a weekend at the Clubhouse. It was billed as a “Leaf Peepers” weekend, but I must admit the leaves this year are not as spectacular as previous years. What was spectacular was the time spent with other members. Some, like ourselves, who have been members for many years and some who were at the Clubhouse for the first time. The weather was perfect and it seems that “Leaf Peepers” has been resurrected and will be on the hosted calendar going forward.
Speaking of the Hosting Calendar…..October 24-October 27 there will be a first ever train the host weekend. Hosting through the Spring, Fall and Winter seasons is a large part of our Club. It takes many members to make all of the hosted weekends possible, so this is a very important event and a great way to get involved. The greatest benefit of hosting is meeting members one may not otherwise meet. Thank you to everyone who is attending the weekend and thank you, as well, for the weekends that will be made possible as a result of your efforts.
Another opportunity to support our Club is the November 2-3 2024 ADK Winter Expo. This is a large outdoor show which will be held at the Albany Capital Center 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday. Message me if you’re available 1-5 on Saturday or 10-2 on Sunday. This show is an opportunity for us to talk about SWC and share our amazing history.
Another opportunity to volunteer is during the Clubhouse Fall Work Weekend November 07-November 10. With or without technical skills there is a job for you.
I look forward to meeting and working with you at an upcoming event.
