Ski Trip to Serfaus Austria
A ski trip to Serfaus, Austria, is an experience like no other, blending breathtaking alpine scenery with world-class skiing and an exceptional mountain atmosphere. Nestled in the Tyrolean Alps, Serfaus is a charming village that offers both top-tier skiing conditions and a family-friendly vibe.
The journey began with a trip on the way to Serfaus to Garmish Germany. We had the opportunity to enjoy this picturesque village followed by a great lunch before we continued our trip. We arrived in the quaint village, with its traditional Tyrolean architecture and cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Serfaus boasts one of the largest ski areas in Austria, with over 200 kilometers of pristine slopes and state-of-the-art lifts. From beginner runs to challenging black slopes, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned skier or a novice.
We hit the slopes early on Sunday as we received our equipment on Saturday. Skis were included with our trip price and the snow was perfect—dry, powdery, and plentiful except for the bottom runout. The vast terrain of Serfaus was beautifully groomed, and the views from the mountaintop were nothing short of spectacular. We enjoyed cruising down the wide, open pistes, feeling the rush of wind in our faces as we took in panoramic views of snow-covered peaks. The village's well-maintained lifts made getting to the top quick and easy. Most of the uphill travel is high-speed gondolas. The new one holds 10 people and moves 3500 people per hour and there was no shortage of variety when it came to the slopes. For those seeking a thrill, there were challenging steep trails.
Aside from skiing, the après-ski in Serfaus was unforgettable. After a long day on the slopes, we headed back to our hotel for a well-deserved break. Our hotel had everything we needed from food to drink! We relaxed and shared stories from the day’s adventures. The village itself is dotted with charming cafés, boutique shops, and a number of fantastic restaurants, serving everything from hearty Tyrolean dishes to international cuisine. We were fortunate that our chef prepared a 5 course meal for dinner every day, as well as a full breakfast.
Another feature that made the trip special was a fantastic night show on the mountain including drones, music, fireworks and skiers.
Serfaus is more than just a ski resort—it’s a destination where adventure, relaxation, and the beauty of the mountains come together seamlessly. It’s no wonder that this little gem of a village continues to be a favorite among skiers, snowboarders, and families alike. Our trip to Serfaus was truly unforgettable, and we look forward to our return.
