 Hosted Training Weekend at Clubhouse 2024

Fourteen people attended SWC's first Host Training Weekend at the clubhouse in Waterbury. They got a behind the scenes tour of the house and learned all about planning for a hosted weekend. It wasn't all work though, attendees participated in activities throughout the area. From the weekly farmers' market in Montpelier to hiking to Sterling Pond, from hard cider tasting at Cold Hollow to bike riding on the Recreation Path, everyone got out and enjoyed the outdoors.

SOLAR ECLIPSE WEEKEND 2024

The weekend started with snow on the ground and awesome ski conditions for the group of around 34 people who traveled to the SWC clubhouse for the solar eclipse weekend. By eclipse day, all the snow at the house was gone and the lawn was filled with kids playing and adults sunning themselves on picnic blankets, while others sat around enjoying the firepit....read more

Chef Earl's Weekend 2024

The kids had a great time skiing, playing, and even helping with cleanup.  Earl’s meals were greeted with the usual rave reviews.  We had more than 30 members and guests for dinner on both Friday and Saturday nights....see more

SWC continues to enjoy the benefits of the scientists and engineers, Langmuir, Suits, Apperson and Schaefer whose outdoor endeavors resulted in the creation of not only the Mohawk Valley Hiking Club, but also Schenectady Wintersports Club and the Snow Train. The history of these individuals and their accomplishments have been beautifully presented...see more

The SWC just completed a fantastic trip to Telluride CO.We had 23 people join us on the trip.20 people were new members.  Telluride is a fantastic place  for a ski trip! The stunning mountain views, challenging slopes, and charming town make for a memorable experience...see more

Six hardy skiers braved the cold (temps in the low teens) for our first Nordic ski event of 2024!  Skiing included the North and South side of the golf course and woods. Grooming and snow amounts  were very good....see more
