  97th ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST

  In 1929 the Mohawk Valley Hiking Club (MVHC) began a Thanksgiving Day Breakfast tradition at Walker’s Falls, which continued in 1930 at the Helderhills Lean-to and waterfalls on the Bozen Kill, part of the Christman Preserve.

  This is a free event open to the PUBLIC. Pancakes served at 8:30 AM. Come earlier to enjoy an easy hike in the preserve.

  
  

  IN 1930 W.W. CHRISTMAN “THE POET OF THE HELDERBERGS” MET WITH LEADERS OF MVHC, FORGING A COMMITMENT TO PRESERVE CHRISTMAN’S HOLDINGS IN WILLIAMS HOLLOW AS A WILDLIFE SANCTUARY – A PLACE TO REMAIN “FOREVER WILD”,  DUBBED THE CHRISTMAN PRESERVE.  A DEDICATION PLAQUE TOWARDS THAT END REMAINS IN PLACE ON THE LAWN OF THE CHRISTMAN FARMHOUSE.  MORE RECENTLY THE NATURE CONSERVANCY HAS CARED FOR THE PRESERVE.  MVHC PLANTED 7,000 TREES ON THE PRESERVE IN 1931, NOW TOWERING 50-75 FEET PROVIDING AN ENJOYABLE NATURAL HABITAT.

  Early Season Ski Clinic

  This is the first time the SWC clinic will be held at the Sugarbush Mountain Resort! We are making this big change for several positive reasons:

  • Smaller classes: Maximum size of 8, minimum of 4
  • More instructors: Up to 5 for a group of 20
  • Lower price, high value: The clinic will cost only $285* each
  • Group lift tickets for those without an IKON pass are only $89/day
  • Free parking at the resort
  • Equipment rentals available at 20% off day-of pricing

  When and Where? Thursday Dec 10 to Sunday Dec 13

  What's the Plan? Kick off the weekend Thursday Night with a Welcome Party mixer at the SWC Clubhouse in Waterbury Center. Happy hour Friday après ski at Sugarbush bar

  Where will we stay? Clinic lodging will be provided at the SWC Clubhouse in Waterbury Center, as a hosted weekend where full meals are available for purchase. For this event, roommates will be assigned at the SWC Clubhouse ($50pp/night) in order to accommodate as many skiers as possible. SWC membership enables access to the SWC ski house for the 2026-27 season.

  Registration? Complete your registration through this announcement using the Register button. This form will be used to assign Clubhouse room reservations and calculate the full Clinic price, class assignments, and meals you wish to purchase. A separate invoice for Clubhouse lodging will be issued after your room is assigned.

  How Much? Registration for the lessons and meals are charged through this event form. The ski clinic lesson price of $285 will include 12 hours of PSIA-certified instruction: Friday PM, Saturday AM and PM and Sunday AM. Dinners on Friday and Saturday night include, appetizers, main course and sides, and dessert for $25 pp. Room charges for the Clubhouse will be invoiced separately when rooms are assigned. Full payment is due by November 26. If you choose to pay by check, payment must be received at P.O. Box 2072, Wilton NY 12831 by November 26.

  Lift tickets are not included in the Clinic price. If you want to purchase lift tickets please indicate the number you would like and SWC will include you in the group lift ticket purchase plan.
